Hand surgery – dissection course

Dissection and demonstration on fresh, non-formalin fixed hands and forearms — for orthopaedic surgeons, residents in hand surgery, nurses, occupational therapists and physiotherapists. Held at the Division of Human Anatomy, University of Copenhagen, in collaboration with hand surgeons from Denmark and Sweden.

Hand surgery – dissection course
For doctors
Seven sessions and 12 hours of education from the shoulder to the fingertips, including the brachial plexus. Each participant dissects their own fresh specimen, with prosected specimens for reference. Accredited with 12 CME points.
For nurses, OTs & physiotherapists
Experienced hand surgeons demonstrate the anatomy of the upper extremity — with focus on the forearm and hand — on fresh specimens, in groups of 7–8 participants. Surgical exposures and anatomical topography included.
Donor programme
Each participant receives their own fresh specimen, obtained through a formal donation programme.
Screened specimens
All specimens are tested for hepatitis and HIV. No photography is permitted during sessions.
Accreditation
The doctors' course is accredited with 12 CME points.
The courses are taught by senior hand surgeons and anatomists from the University of Copenhagen, Herlev & Gentofte Hospital, Hillerød and the University of Lund, Malmö.
